TTT – 2021 Releases I’m Still Excited For

Happy Top Ten Tuesday everyone! It’s been a minute since I’ve written something for the blog. My energy levels to do anything have honestly dropped to below sea level. Reading on the other hand is going splendidly. Only four more books to go, and I’ve made my goal of 50!

Anyway,Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can find all past and future prompts on her blog! This week the prompt is: Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 20212021 releases 2021 releases

I think we’ve already had some amazing releases this year, and the second half of 2021 is looking good too! So many great books are set to be published, so here are the ten 2021 releases I am most excited for!

Small Favors

By Erin A. Craig

Expected publication: July 27

First of all, I’m in love with that cover. Look at the little bees!! I loved House of Salt and Sorrows because of how dark and twisty it was, and I’m hoping that this book will be the same. Actually, I’m hoping that I need to sleep with the lights on. It comes out in July, but let’s be real, it would make the perfect Fall/Halloween read.

She Who Became the Sun

By Shelley Parker-Chan

Expected publication: July 20

This book is pitched as Mulan meets the Song of Achilles, which sounds amazing. I’ve come to really enjoy historical settings in fantasy novels, so I have high hopes for this one. I took a peek at some of the reviews on Goodreads and they all speak very highly of this story. Guess I’ll find out for myself just how good it is in less than a month!

Reign

By Cora Carmack

Expected publication: July 6

I read Rage at the beginning of 2020 and really liked where the story was going. I believe this will be the final book in this series, and I’m not quite sure who I’m rooting for at this point. What I thought was clear in book one, turned out to be not so clear in book two. So we’ll see where that all goes. Just a week to go until this one goes out in the world!

Gods & Monsters

By Shelby Mahurin

Expected publication: August 3

To be completely honest, Blood & Honey was slightly disappointing. But, I am still excited for this final installment because there were some things in Blood & Honey that totally intrigued me and I want to know more. I just hope that plot wise it’ll be a bit better than Blood & Honey.

Defy the Night

By Brigid Kemmerer

Expected publication: September 14

The description of this book honestly sounds so cool! I love stories about kingdoms and rebellion and mean royals that may or may not be actually mean. This will be the second book that Kemmerer publishes this year, which is kind of amazing, honestly. I still need to read A Vow so Bold and Deadly though…

The Bronzed Beasts

By Roshani Chokshi

Expected publication: September 21

Guys, I read The Silvered Serpents all the way in August because I got an ARC. I have suffered for so long. I neeeeed this book! The Silvered Serpents was honestly so amazing, and I high incredibly high hopes for this final installment, too. Seriously, pick up this series if you haven’t yet.

Thronebreakers

By Rebecca Coffindaffer

Expected publication: October 12

I discovered Crownchasers by chance in January, and I did not expect it to became one of my favorites of the year. But it did! So now I’m super excited for Thronebreakers to come out in October. Though I am sad that this is only a duology. I love this world and the characters a lot, and would honestly read ten books like this.

Kingdom of the Cursed

By Kerri Maniscalco

Expected publication: October 26

I love it when books come out in October because I can claim them as birthday gifts. I read Kingdom of the Wicked as an ARC all the way back in August 2020, I think. So again, I deserve to read this book ASAP because I’ve been suffering long enough. Kingdom of the Wicked was one of my favs from last year, and I’m hoping that Kingdom of the Cursed will became a fav of this year!

All of Us Villains

By Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman

Expected publication: November 9

The blurb of this book makes me want to read it literally right now. I cannot find a single thing in that short blurb that does not appeal to me. It’s a story about a deadly competition, with the rule over a city at stake. Not to mention that there’s tons of magic involved, too. Can it be November yet?

Our Violent Ends

By Chloe Gong

Expected publication: November 16

Last, but certainly not least, I’m very excited for Our Violent Ends. These Violent Delights ended on quite a shocking note, so I’m ready to pick this one up and continue the story. I requested an ARC on NetGalley, but I’ll probably be denied lol. Oh well, one can hope.

And that’s it for today! What are some releases in the second half of 2021 that you’re looking forward to? Do we have any anticipated releases in common? Let me know!

I should probably thank Waterstones for messing up my Silvered Serpents order so I had slightly less time to wait! ? I’ll be pouncing on The Bronzed Beasts the moment it’s out.

That’s a very positive attitude, I think I would’ve still been mad at my messed up order ? Our patience will soon be rewarded!
