Tag Time – The Cozy Autumn Book Tag

Hello book friends! I decided I wanted to do an autumnal book tag this Blogtober. So I went to my good friend Google for some inspiration!

I found the Cozy Autumn Book Tag on Lair of Books, but it was originally created by booktuber The Book Belle.

If you decide to tag yourself, be sure to link back to the original creator! Here are the questions and my answers: cozy autumn

What book always reminds you of autumn?

An Enchantment of Ravens is the first book to come to mind. Which makes sense, because it’s literally about a fae prince of autumn. I read it a very long time ago, but I liked it! It definitely has all the autumn vibes, and also a great autumnal cover.

What is your favorite autumnal book cover?

The Queen of Blood Book Cover

In this case I’ll have to go with The Queen of Blood! I love this cover a lot, and can stare at it forever. In this story, most people live villages built in huge trees like you can see on the cover. However, the spirits that live in the forest want to rid the whole world of humans. The queen is the only one who has the magical power to stop this from happening, but in this particular story the queen turns out to be not that talented with magic… I enjoyed this story, but have yet to continue the series.

What is your favorite autumnal drink to read with?

I know autumn is the time to drink hot drinks, but I’m not really a fan of those. The only ones I like are apple cider and chai lattes! Otherwise I usually have a glass of ice tea next to me while I’m reading.

Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning?

I’m a night owl, so I definitely prefer to read late at night! The only downside of that is that I will always hit the plottwist around midnight, and then I have to finish the book… Many nights were spent sleepless in my household, lol.

Halloween is coming! What is your favorite spooky read?

I think I’ll have to go with House of Salt and Sorrows! I haven’t read a lot of spooky books, but I really enjoyed this one. It’s genuinely spooky sometimes, and also messed with my head a lot in the end. I also enjoyed some middle grade spooky books in the past, like V.E. Schwab’s City of Ghosts and Jonathan Stroud’s Lockwood & Co. series!

What is the ultimate comfort read for you?

Hmm this is a good question. The downside to reading lots of gritty fantasy means that none of those really can be seen as comfort reads lol. But, having thought about it for a minute, I think I’m going to answer with The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chamnbers! This is a sci-fi, but very focused on the characters. I adored all of them and absolutely loved this book.

What is your favorite autumnal reading snack?

Another good question, because I don’t really have any true seasonal snacks here. Unless apple pie counts?? Is pie a snack?? But what I usually snack on while reading is something salty, like chips.

When you’re not reading, what is your favorite autumnal activity?

Ooh so many things! I love taking walks through the local forest and spotting mushrooms. I also love hitting up the city and doing some shopping (not really an autumn activity, but buying sweaters is). And I always want to carve at least one pumpkin before Halloween!

What is on your Autumn/Fall reading list?

You’ve probably seen my October TBR post, which definitely covers what I want to read this month. But other than those, I also want to work on reading some books that have been on my shelf for quite a while. I also want to throw in a reread maybe. I definitely have enough books to read, but the only problem is, I have no idea yet what I’m going to be in the mood for!

And that’s it for the Cozy Autumn Book Tag! As always, feel free to tag yourself and participate. Just don’t forget to link back to the original creator!
