Happy Friday book friends! A couple of weeks I posted for Friday Favorites for the first time, but haven’t had time to post anything since then. But today I finally had time to write something down!
Friday Favorites is hosted by Functionally Fictional, and you can find all upcoming prompts on her blog! Today’s prompt is covers with fruit or flowers! I’m going to list some of my favorite floral covers here. And floral covers are one of my favorite types of covers in general!
Belladonna
By Adalyn Grace
This was partially a cover-buy for me. I had heard about this book before it came out, but was slightly on the fence because her previous series wasn’t my favorite. But then I saw this cover in the bookstore and had to take it home. Luckily, I ended up really enjoying the book and I look forward to Foxglove coming out next month! Belladonna and Foxglove are going to look so good together, because Foxglove’s cover is amazing, too. I also think these floral covers are a lot prettier than the other editions’.
The Foxglove King
By Hannah Whitten
I’m staying in theme here with The Foxglove King. I love the details on this cover. Also I didn’t realize that the cover for The Hemlock Queen is out already, but it’s equally beautiful! I think I have a thing for dark covers with pretty florals.
Daughter of the Moon Goddess
By Sue Lynn Tan
I don’t think any list of favorite covers is complete without Daughter of the Moon Goddess on it. This is probably one of the prettiest books I own, and it isn’t even one of the special editions! Of course I love its sequel’s cover too, but this one is the best. Also prettier than the other edition, but that’s just my humble opinion.
Small Favors
By Erin A. Craig
Here’s another cover that’s never not on a list-of-favorite-covers list. I think this cover suits the book so well, especially with the little bees on it! If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend reading it during the warmer months. Even though it takes place over a period of about a year, the hot summer vibes in the beginning really set the tone.
Foul Lady Fortune
By Chloe Gong
I love this cover a lot, it’s so very pink, and yet it fits the story somehow. I read Foul Lady Fortune earlier this year and I’m absolutely obsessed. I can’t wait for Foul Heart Huntsman, especially with how FLF ended. And it’s already releasing in September! Sometimes procrastinating on reading books can really pay off. I now don’t have to wait as long to get my hands on the sequel!
Six Crimson Cranes
By Elizabeth Lim
Is this cover particularly floral? Eh, debatable. Does it still deserve a spot on a favorite covers list? Absolutely. I actually can’t trust anyone who doesn’t have this cover in their top 10 favorites. I love the colors, the composition, everything! And of course The Dragon’s Promise is just as pretty. Though I still need to read that one…
And that’s it for this week’s Friday Favorites post! I love floral covers and am automatically drawn to them whenever I’m in a bookstore. Is there a type of cover that catches your attention real quick? Let me know!
