My Liebster Award Nomination

To my utmost delight, the lovely Leah from Leah’s Books and Cooks nominated me for a Liebster award! This was such a nice surprise to start my day with, and I’m stoked to answer the questions. Okay so first let me explain a little about the Liebster award. According to this website, the Liebster Award is an internet only award for bloggers by bloggers. Bloggers nominate others, answer the questions, and pass it on to other bloggers. Right now you need to nominate bloggers with less than 200 followers, but this number is arbitrary. The Books I Haven’t Read

A while ago a thing went around on Twitter asking you which popular book series you’ve read. Out of the list of 23 books, I only read 10… Now I’m not stressing about this, but it did make me think about why I haven’t read these books, because some of them are pretty popular. Tag: Are you ready for sweater weather?

I have never done a tag before, and I thought that now would be a good time to start! I decided to do Jenn’s Sweater Weather tag, because, in case you haven’t noticed, I am super hyped for fall! Hot Chocolate: what is your comfort book? I feel like such a cliche saying this, but for me it’s definitely Harry Potter. I can with 100% confidence say that it’s the only series from my childhood that I still revisit from time to time. I love everything about the Harry Potter world, and some 14 years later I’m still not sick…

Sooo… I recently finished Darkdawn, which was one of my most anticipated releases of September, and… I loved it! I have some thoughts about the book, and I thought I’d share them here. This post will contain spoilers, so if you haven’t read Darkdawn/The Nevernight Chronical yet, and you plan on doing so, pleasepleaseplease don’t continue reading. I haven’t mastered the ability to write spoiler-free reviews yet, oops. I’m on Twitter and I noticed a lot of people positively sobbing near the end of Darkdawn. I even knew which chapters would produce the most tears, so when I got there…

Theme Thursday: My favorite Arabian/Middle Eastern themed books

This year I have been reading a lot of books with Arabian and Middle Eastern themes, and I think this is now one of my favorite themes ever. I have found that in a lot of popular fiction, there is always the “main” land which is often just inspired by feudal Europe, and there is the “sub” land. You know, the land that vaguely reminds you of any Arabian country that the main character travels to, like, once, where they learn that that land they thought was barbaric and backwards is actually not that bad, wow! Anyway, I’m so glad…
