TTT: Things I’d Have at My Bookish Party

I love this week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt. It’s so creative! I love a good themed party (especially Halloween parties!), so I am excited to share this hypothetical list with you. If only I had more IRL bookish friends… then I could make this party reality!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly tag hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. You can find all the prompts on her page! This week’s prompt is, like the title suggests, top ten things I’d have at my bookish party.

1: Costumes!

Listen if I host a bookish party, y’all better show up dressed as your favorite book character. I would also definitely hold a best costume contest. Although honestly, I don’t even know who I would dress up as! There are so many characters that I love…

2: Book themed food and drinks!

I think we can all name a few books that have very particular food. A party like this obviously can’t be complete without liters of butterbeer and heaps of book worm candy. Maybe I’ll go all out and prepare and entire roast…

3: All our favorite books!

The best part about being a reader is that no one reads the exact same books as you. If everyone brought their all-time favorite book, you can discover all kinds of new reads! It’s like a mini show and tell.

4: Guess the book!

Obviously a good party needs some party activities. I guess this game would be kind of like charades. You try to enact out a book, or describe it in three words, and your teammate tries to guess it!

5: Bookish memory!

Another game in this case. It would be like match the book to the author, or match the ship!

6: DIY party decorations!

Pinterest is a great place to find easy DIY party decorations, even for bookish parties! You can do some really awesome things with old pages, like make a table runner, or a cool banner!

7: A book swap!

Kind of related to number 3, but instead of taking your own book back home, you get to bring home an entirely new one! Book swaps are fun because you can finally force someone else to read your favorite. And who knows, maybe that new book you got will be a new favorite of yours too!

8: Some good tunes!

Unfortunately books don’t come with their own theme music. But some movie adaption music would do! Imagine walking into the house and being greeted by some Harry Potter music. That would be magical.

9: Craft table!

This is where you go to make your own bookmarks. Or maybe make your own TBR jar! Or you could even bring your bullet journal and spend an hour creating a pretty review spread.

10: Bookish scavenger hunt!

This one will require some extra creativity. Hide some bookish objects (or images of them) throughout your party location, and have people try to find them! Some examples of items could be a gold coin to symbolize Kruge from Six of Crows, or and old witch’s hat to symbolize the sorting hat! Or a queen of hearts playing card to symbolize Alice in Wonderland!

BRB, gonna organize my bookish party now!

Wearing costumes for it is such a good idea.

Thank you! I love scavenger hunts, and I wish someone would organize them for adults more often😂

Getting to dress up as your favorite character seems like it’d be super fun! Like a con, except with books instead. I’m all for that. Ooooh, I love that idea of the bookish scavenger hunt! That sounds great. Do I get an invite to your next bookish party? 😉

    Here’s my TTT post.
