It’s so weird how we’re already getting ready to enter the second half of 2020. This has simultaneously been the fastest and slowest six months of my life. Luckily Top Ten Tuesday is one of the constants we can count on!
Most Anticipated
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and you can find all future and past prompts on her blog! Like I said, we’re already going head first into 2020 part 2, so today’s prompt is: what are your most anticipated releases for the second half of 2020?

The Empire of Gold
By S.A. Chakraborty
Today this book is finally released into the wild on the US side of the ocean! This is probably my most anticipated release of the entire year. I know some people have already read it, and there were so many emotions. I’m a little scared.

Girl, Serpent, Thorn
By Melissa Bashardoust
This book releases July 7th, and it wasn’t originally included in my 2020 Most Anticipated Releases post, but it definitely caught my eye while I was scrolling through Goodreads a while ago. The premise of this book sounds great, and the fact that the cover is beautiful doesn’t hurt either.

Blood & Honey
By Shelby Mahurin
Blood & Honey will be released September 1, and I’m super excited for it! I actually put Serpent & Dove down for a while, and then picked it back up. No regrets there. I do hope that Blood & Honey will be a little bit faster paced, though.

A Deadly Education
By Naomi Novik
I love Novik’s books, and this one includes a deadly magic school? Sign me up! I am mostly intrigued because the blurb doesn’t even give that much away. Usually I can kind of guess at the plot, but I can’t guess this one. It does sound super interesting though!

The Silvered Serpents
By Roshani Chokshi
The Silvered Serpents comes out September 22nd. I read The Gilded Wolves a few months ago, and even though I was sometimes very confused about the magic, it was still a very enjoyable book. I’m hoping that the Silvered Serpents will do a little better job at making the magic clear. The story will take place in Russia, which really intrigues me.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
By V.E. Schwab
Ah yes, another one of my most anticipated releases of the year. Some people have apparently traded their left kidney for an arc, and everyone was completely in love with this book (at least as far as I know). I love books that take place over centuries, and different places in the world. To me, it makes the experience that much richer! This book will come out October 6th.

Kingdom of the Wicked
By Kerri Maniscalco
I’ve talked about Kingdom of the Wicked before in another post, and I definitely mentioned I’m really excited for this book. The Stalking Jack the Ripper series was great, and I’m curious to see how Maniscalco will write a full fantasy. This book takes place on Sicily, which is super interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in Italy before, let alone Sicily. Kingdom of the Wicked will be released on October 27th!

The Once and Future Withces
By Alix E. Harrow
This book sounds entirely intriguing. Witches used to exist, and then they didn’t. Well, they exist suppressed of course. This book sounds so interesting because it involved an entire women’s movement, which is dope. Not to mention that this book focuses on sisters, which I don’t see that often. Also the cover is absolutely gorgeous, and that doesn’t hurt either. This book will release October 13th!

How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories
By Holly Black
I just about squealed very loudly when I learned we’d get a Cardan novella. And it’s illustrated y’al!! I love the cover, too. This book will include stories from Cardan’s life before he became the Cruel Prince, and stories from after Queen of Nothing. Plus we’ll see familiar events unfold from Cardan’s perspective. We’ll get our novella November 24th.

You’re right that it’s hard to believe we are already going onto the second half of this year, this very strange and scary year. I love the book covers of some of the books in your post. I can feel your excitement about this list of upcoming titles. By the way, I love the name of your blog!

Right? I’m excited for it! Naomi Novik’s writing is often also very whimsical. Love your list! Lots of new names for me.
