TTT – Authors I’ve Read the Most Books By

Happy Top Ten Tuesday everyone! I’m honestly not at all sure I can even make a list of ten authors for this prompt… But I shall do my best! There are certainly a couple of authors I’ve read a lot of books by, at least.

authors

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. You can find all the prompts on her blog! Like the title suggests, this week’s prompt is: authors I’ve read the most books by, so let’s see how far we can get!

So how this list will work is: I will list the authors, the books I’ve read by them, and my favorite! My hope is that maybe you can discover a new book or author, or we can gush about our favorites! Or discuss shortcomings, I’m always open to discussion!

1 – V.E. Schwab

  • A Darker Shade of Magic
  • A Gathering of Shadows
  • A Conjuring of Light
  • The Archived
  • This Savage Song
  • Our Dark Duet
  • City of Ghosts
  • Tunnel of Bones
  • Vicious

Okay so I guess this entire series is my favorite. I debated for a bit whether I liked the Monsters of Verity duology better than Darker Shades, but Darker Shades came out as the winner. The world building in this series is just so amazing! I’d love to live in Red London.

2 – Sarah J. Maas

  • Throne of Glass
  • Crown of Midnight
  • Heir of Fire
  • Queen of Shadows
  • Empire of Storms
  • Tower of Dawn
  • Kingdom of Ash
  • A Court of Thorns and Roses
  • A Court of Mist and Fury
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight
  • House of Earth and Blood

My Favorite:

Published 3 March 2020 by Bloomsbury
fantasy | romance | magical bonds

This again was a toss up between this book and A Court of Mist and Fury. While I love that ACOMAF does not suffer at all from “second book syndrome,” I do think I like HOEAB better in the end. I really enjoy the world it’s set in, and that it was way adultier than TOG or ACOTAR

3 – Marissa Meyer

  • Cinder
  • Scarlet
  • Cress
  • Winter
  • Heartless
  • Renegades
  • Archenemies

My Favorite:

Winter book cover

Winter

By Marissa Meyer

Published 10 November 2015 by Feiwel and Friends
science fiction | young adult | retelling

I love this entire series, but Winter has got to be my favorite. Meyer’s writing really grew between book 1 and book 4. Although I love her other books too, I just think that Winter is the best.

4 – Cassandra Clare

  • City of Bones
  • City of Ashes
  • City of Glass
  • City of Fallen Angels
  • City of Souls
  • City of Heavenly Fire
  • Clockwork Angel
  • Clockwork Prince
  • Half of Clockwork Princess (I still don’t know why I never finished it so don’t ask)
  • Lady Midnight
  • Lord of Shadows
  • Queen of Air and Darkness
  • Chain of Gold

My Favorite:

Queen of Air and Darkness

By Cassandra Clare

Published 4 December 2018 by Margaret K. McElderry Books
fantasy | young adult | paranormal

In all honesty I think The Dark Artifices is my favorite Shadowhunter series. For now. The Mortal Instruments will always be special, but it doesn’t compare with Clare’s later work. Chain of Gold was great, but it was only the first book in a new series, so we’ll see if Queen of Air and Darkness will get kicked off my favorite throne.

5 – Richelle Mead

  • Vampire Academy
  • Frostbite
  • Shadow Kiss
  • Blood Promise
  • Spirit Bound
  • Last Sacrifice
  • Bloodlines
  • The Golden Lily
  • The Indigo Spell
  • The Fiery Heart
  • Silver Shadows
  • The Ruby Circle

My Favorite:

paranormal | romance | vampires

Okay so it’s been ages since I read any of the Vampire Academy books, so I honestly can hardly tell you what happened in Last Sacrifice and why it’s my favorite. I just remember really enjoying it, and staying up super late to finish the book in one sitting. That should honestly say enough anyway.

6 – Gini Koch

  • Touched by an Alien
  • Alien Tango
  • Alien in the Family
  • Alien Proliferation
  • Alien Diplomacy
  • Alien vs. Alien
  • Alien in the House
  • Alien Research
  • Alien Collective
  • Universal Alien

My Favorite:

Universal Alien

science fiction | aliens | multiverse

You know that one book or series that is totally your guilty pleasure? Well this is mine. There are even more books in the making right now. I believe up to book 20 has been planned out. That’s a lot of books and I’m going to read them all!! Universal Alien so far is my favorite though, because it involves one of my favorite science fiction elements: multiverse theory!

7 – Brandon Sanderson

  • Mistborn / The Final Empire
  • The Well of Ascension
  • The Hero of Ages
  • The Alloy of Law
  • Shadows of Self
  • The Bands of Mourning
  • Skyward
  • Starsight

My Favorite:

The Hero of Ages

By Brandon Sanderson

Published 11 February 2010 by Gollancz
fantasy | epic adventure | class struggle

Once upon a time an employee at Barnes & Noble shoved this series in my face because he was convinced I’d like it. He was right. The Hero of Ages was one of those books that was completely heartbreaking and satisfying at the same time. The Mistborn series is one of my favorites ever, and I highly recommend these books if you haven’t read them yet.

8 – Leigh Bardugo

  • Shadow and Bone
  • Siege and Storm
  • Ruin and Rising
  • Six of Crows
  • Crooked Kingdom
  • Wonder Woman: Warbringer
  • King of Scars
  • Ninth House

My Favorite:

Crooked Kingdom

By Leigh Bardugo

Published 27 September 2016 by Orion
fantasy | young adult | magic

Crooked Kingdom will forever be my favorite because shit got real in this book. I loved Six of Crows, but the plot was very singular. Books with heists and con artists are my absolute favorite thing, and I believe Crooked Kingdom really met my standards. Ps: if you also like heists and sneaky but lovable characters, I highly recommend The Lies of Locke Lamora!

I’m gonna leave it at that today! As I predicted, not quite 10 authors, but these are the ones I’ve read more than five books by. What’s your most read author?

I put off reading Winter for the longest time because it’s surprisingly big, but it’s also so good!

I’ve had Touched by an Alien on my to-read list for a while, maybe I should finally get around to it.

It’s so cheesy but so good at the same time! Especially the books after, because the overarching plot is amazing.

Oh my… so many of the authors on your list are ones I used to BINGE like you wouldn’t believe. And now I didn’t even think of them. How fickle the mind can be. And how quickly I can jump from one bandwagon onto the next. Bad me.

Haha, I think I probably used to binge many other authors when I was a lot younger but I can’t even remember who they are 🙈
