The Behind the Blogger Tag

It has been a hot minute since I’ve done a tag. I wasn’t tagged in this particular one, but that won’t stop me, mwaha! Seriously though, this tag looked fun, and it’s a great way to get to know the life behind the blogger, so I hope this tag spreads more!

I first read this tag on @booksare42, but the Behind the Blogger Tag was created by Ellyn @allonsythornraxx. Since I’m not usually in the habit of tagging people, be sure to link back to her page in your own post! And now on to the questions…

1 Why did you start blogging & why have you kept blogging?

I first entered the bookish community with my Bookstagram page. However, I think that same year I figured out that there are a lot of limitations to using Instagram as a platform to talk books. I love the interaction aspect of it, but forget about writing longer pieces of text. So my blog came into existence!

It’s been through many changes, but the content has always been overall the same. I love blogging now because I enjoy participating in tags, writing reviews, and coming up with my own creative posts. And interacting with a whole different set of people is definitely a plus!

2 What is your favorite type of blog post to write?

I love book tags and creating lists. Prompt guided posts are so much fun, because they allow for creativity, yet they’re also a great conversation starter with other participants. Some of my favorite constants are Top Ten Tuesday and Fae Friday!

3 What are your top three favorite blog posts?

The first one that came to mind was my Spooky Scary Skeletons post. It’s the only tag I’ve created myself, and seeing other people participate made me feel like a happy mush.

Another one of my favorites is my Bookish Confessions and Unpopular Opinions post. It’s become one of my most popular posts on Pinterest, too.

Lastly, one of my favorites is a recent one. It’s a Top Ten Tuesday post about the ten things I’d have at my bookish party. I loved this prompt, because it really forced me to be creative. And you know as a blogger it’s sometimes hard to come up with original content. But I feel like this hypothetical party would be a success!

4 What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?

Aside from reading (duh) I like taking naps a lot. I’m a big proponent of mid-day naps. Just cuddling up in a blanket is already enough to make me relax!

Actually after that one answer I realize I don’t know how to relax… Does playing games on your phone count? I tend to do that a lot, but I also wouldn’t call it relaxing, haha.

5 What are your three favorite things?

My cats (counting that as one thing, sorry, I don’t encourage favoritism), my bookshelves, and my friends!

6 What are your proudest blogging moments?

Gonna go with the Spooky Scary Skeletons tag, again! It’s so awesome when you’re a small blogger, and yet others still took the time to answer the questions and spread it around! I will definitely be bringing it back this Halloween.

Aside from that, every milestone I hit is a proud blogging moment. Sometimes numbers may not seem like much, until you imagine all those people standing in your bedroom! Then the number is suddenly quite large…

7 What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

Taking pictures for my Bookstagram counts, right? Other than that, I am a figure skater by day, except everything is closed now… I hope the rinks can safely open up soon, because I need to get back on the ice!

8 Describe your personality in three words

Friendly, extrovert, ambitious

9 What are your top three pet peeves?

I have many bookish pet peeves. I even made a post about it! But in non-bookish life, I hate it when people chew with their mouth open, I hate it when people are unnecessarily loud (and I say that as an extrovert, lol), and I hate people who complain all the time but never make an effort to better their situation.

10 What’s something your followers don’t know about you?

Hmm… this one is hard because I tend to share a lot about myself. I’m also not the type to have an interesting fact about my life. Oh, I guess that once upon a time I wanted to be a fighter pilot. Which is completely at odds with my personality lol. But it seemed like a great career path, and I only abandoned it about six years ago.

There it is! I hope you guys learned something more about me. Everyone is tagged, so if you choose to participate, I can’t wait to see your answers!

Interested in other tags to do? I’ve created an archive for all the ones I’ve participated in!

It was fun to do! And I’ve come to realize that almost all my hobbies are book related, but that’s okay haha.
