This year I have been reading a lot of books with Arabian and Middle Eastern themes, and I think this is now one of my favorite themes ever. I have found that in a lot of popular fiction, there is always the “main” land which is often just inspired by feudal Europe, and there is the “sub” land. You know, the land that vaguely reminds you of any Arabian country that the main character travels to, like, once, where they learn that that land they thought was barbaric and backwards is actually not that bad, wow!
