Tag Time – The This or That Book Tag

*Clears throat* I’m baaaaack! I’ve been slightly struggling lately. My rent unexpectedly got terminated, and though that did mean I had seas of time to leave (yay renter protection) I wanted to get out of there sooner rather than later. So now I’m typing this from the comforts of my new room!

I was tagged by George from Fuel the Blog to do the This or That Book Tag! This tag comes as a godsend, because even though my motivation to blog is back… I have nothing to really blog about. Anyway, here are the rules!this or that

– Mention the creator of the tag: Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks!
– Thank the blogger who tagged you! – Thanks again for the tag, George!
– Tag 10 people to do the tag and spread the love!

Reading on the couch or on the bed?

I normally read on my bed because… well I don’t have a couch, haha. I don’t easily fall asleep while reading, so my bed is a safe place for me to read lots of pages. Though I think I would love a comfy chair or small couch to read on! I’ll definitely get one when I get my own place.

Sweet or salty snacks while reading?

Salty all the way! Salty snacks are my favorite nowadays. Which is unfortunate, because the ones I like are not healthy, at all! Though now that it’s Sinterklaas time, I can also be found eating kruidnoten. I have very delicious white chocolate covered ones right now!

Trilogies or quarters?

Hmm this one is kinda tough. I like both, but I think I’m gonna answer trilogies because less books means less time spent waiting for the next installment. But you can also find me reading very long series!

First person of third person POV?

Again, I don’t mind either, but when it comes to world building I prefer reading it from a first person POV. Reading about the world from a first person POV always feels easier to read than from a third person POV. I like reading the character’s thoughts while we get to know the world!

Night or morning reader?

I’m for sure a night reader. For some reason, I can never pick up a book when I wake up. My mornings are usually spent doing waking-up things, like breakfast and fixing my face. And also homework. But in the afternoons and evenings I usually read a lot!

Libraries or bookstores?

I like both, but I find myself in a bookstore more often. I loved my local library in the U.S. though, because they are connected through the Libby app! So I still sometimes use this library, just for e-books and the occasional audio book. But I just love going in a bookstore and picking out a book for yourself to keep!

Books that make you laugh or make you cry?

For some reason… I’m gonna say cry. Let’s be real, in most fantasy and science fiction books you should expect to have your heart broken anyway. Chances of your favorite character dying are a lot higher in these genres than in… I don’t know, romance. And for some reason I love it when books make me cry.

Black or white book covers?

I never really thought about this to be honest. I have a lot of books with black covers, though. I think it’s a popular color to pick. I like white ones too, but I have maybe… five of those. Out of 400 books, haha. Gonna leave this one as undecided.

Character driven or plot driven?

I love a good plot, but if I don’t like the characters I’m probably not going to finish the book. I’d rather have really well-written, interesting characters, with a slow plot, than the other way around. One of my favorite examples of a character driven book is The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers! While there is a plot, the characters are what makes this book great.

And that’s it for the This or That Book Tag! I hope you enjoyed reading my answers. I suck at tagging people, so if you want to participate, please tag yourself.
