September + October Book Haul

Hello book friends! I finally bought enough books over the past two months to make a book haul post. It helps that I work in a book store now, because I see so many cool books every day, and I just can resist!

Darkdawn – Jay Kristoff

This was the book that kicked off my haul. I remember I bought it because I got hired at Barnes & Noble and I wanted to treat myself. I’ve since completely finished it, and gave it five stars! I have a non-spoiler free review here if you’re interested in reading that.

Rage – Cora Carmack, Sorcery of Thorns – Margaret Rogerson, and Capturing the Devil – Kerri Maniscalco

It looks a little weird putting all these books in one subheading, but I bought them all on the same day. After all, I had to make use of that employee discount! And I’d been meaning to get these books anyway, so I might as well get them all at the same time. Of these three I haven’t finished a single one yet. But I’m currently reading Capturing the Devil!

The Poppy War – R.F. Kuang

Another book I started and have yet to finish. Not because I’m not enjoying it, though! I just had to pause my reading because I wanted to participate in a readathon and it didn’t fit a single prompt. But I’ll definitely pick it up again soon!

Serpent and Dove – Shelby Mahurin and The Gilded Wolves – Roshani Choksi

A new and an old book in this single purchase. I’ve heard many good things about the Gilded Wolves, but somehow feel like it could deserve more attention? I haven’t read it yet though, so we’ll see. Either way, the premise sounds incredibly promising!

I have to admit I bought Serpent and Dove because I heard a ton of things about this book, both good and bad. The premise sounds very promising and I heard it has a great slow burn romance. I really love those when they are done well. I hope to get to this one extra soon because it’s our YA book club pick this month.

And that’s it! Seven books in total the past two months. Which I think is not bad. Now hopefully I’ll actually read them soon… How many new books did you get this past month or two? Let me know!
