Popular Books I Haven’t Read

Happy Monday everyone! It’s about high time I put out some original content, instead of only participating in tags and memes… My creative pit has been a little empty lately, whoops. Anyway, today I thought I’d discuss some of the popular books and series around that I haven’t (yet?) read!

The funny thing is that I usually do read what’s popular. Bookstagram and book blogs are usually my go-to places to find out which books are coming out, and you can always tell which ones are popular by how much people are talking about them. I especially love going on my Bookstagram to find new books to read. So I’d say I’ve definitely read the most popular books around, mostly in YA, but there are still some that are definitely missing from my list!

Literally anything by Rick Riordan

What can I say. I seems like nearly everyone I interact with has read the Percy Jackson series, the Heroes of Olympus series, or any other book by Rick Riordan. Except for me. I blame not being in the United States during my middle school years. But I am interested in reading all his books though. I think I’ll start with the Percy Jackson series soonish!

Twilight

With Midnight Sun coming out soon, Twilight has been all the talk again. And I have never read it. I used to own a copy of Twilight, but I never picked it up and was also never in the mood to actually read it. I’ve seen the first movie and the very last movie and though I actually enjoyed both, I just never felt the need to pick up the books. If only I didn’t rebel so much against what was popular when I was 14; I might’ve liked this series.

The Lord of the Rings books

These ones are definitely older books, but as someone who also reads a lot of adult fantasy, it feels nearly sacrilegious that I haven’t read them yet. I’ve seen the movies a bunch of times, and even though they’re not an accurate representation of the books, I feel like I know the story anyway. I have read the Hobbit, though. And I enjoyed reading it a lot. So maybe one day I will finally pick up the Fellowship!

An Ember in the Ashes series

So the title and cover for book 4 in this series have recently been revealed, so naturally there was a lot of talk about this series again. I actually own An Ember in the Ashes. It’s on my shelves screaming “pick me! pick me!” every time I need to figure out what to read next. And yet, I still haven’t picked it up. Dumb, because I am fairly sure that I will love this series.

Arc of an Scythe series

I’ve heard many a good thing about this series, and just like with Ember, I actually own Scythe already. It’s currently residing on my shelves in the Netherlands, but still. I own it. I remember when Thunderhead came out last year and my Barnes & Noble flew through copies. When I’m back in the Netherlands I’ll finally pick up this series!

Anything by Marie Lu

I honestly have no clue why I haven’t read anything by Marie Lu yet. All her books sound so awesome and like something I would enjoy. I’ve especially heard many people talk about Warcross, since that’s her latest series I think. Plus the fourth book in the Legend series only came out last year. Point is, there are many of her books already out and I seriously need to read at least one soon!

That’s it for today! There are probably some books and series missing from this list, but oh well. I’d rather not think about the gigantic stack of books I still need to read, hihi. Speaking of TBRs, if you’re curious what’s on mine you can find a big ole list right here!
