Small Favors – Spoiler Free Review

Happy Sunday book friends! Last week I started and finished Small Favors with hardly any sleep in between. I don’t know what it is, but I could not stop reading. I had the same thing with this author’s other book, House of Salt and Sorrows. Obviously this is very positive! Small Favors was one of my most anticipated releases of this year and I seriously enjoyed it. It kind of gave me “The Village” vibes (not that I’ve even seen that movie), and it was so atmospheric. There are definitely some content warnings for this book though, so read those…

Lore by Alexandra Bracken – Spoiler Free Review

Happy Saturday book friends! So recently I was thinking about my most anticipated releases for the year, and found out I had hardly read any. I know some are not out yet, but still. I felt bad lol. So I decided to finally do something about it and read some of my most anticipated books I already own. First up was Lore, which came out last January. Legacy of Ash – Spoiler Free Review

Happy Wednesday book friends! Last Monday I finished reading Legacy of Ash, which I’m low key proud of. One of my goals this year is to read more adult literature, especially fantasy, but my single brain cells can’t always keep up. The funniest thing about me reading this book is that I was planning to pick up something light and quick. And instead I picked up a 700+ page epic fantasy… Brain cells aside, I ended up really enjoying Legacy of Ash! It’s a bit slow, but also a lot more political which I greatly enjoyed. It gave me Game…

July 2021 Wrap Up – Challenge Made

Happy August book friends! It’s so weird to me that it’s already August. In a little more than two weeks I’ll be back in the Netherlands for a whole year! It simultaneously feels longer and shorter than that. Weirdly enough though, I preferred going through lockdown in the U.S… Anyway, let’s talk about some books and other things. I read 7 books this month, which compared to my other months this year is not a whole lot, but certainly not bad either. I read a mix of old books and new-to-me books, and also switched genres a bit.july 2021 wrap…

Ashes of the Sun – Spoiler Free Review

Happy Sunday book friends! I recently finished Ashes of the Sun by Django Wexler, and am happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The second book in this series comes out later this year, and I’m already super excited for it. Funnily enough, I only very recently stumbled upon Ashes of the Sun via the Story Graph. And more funnily enough, I stumbled upon a copy in the bookstore the next day. It doesn’t happen often that I find a book I like to read in our bookstores, since our stores are small and the English selection often quite…
