It’s the end of October already… It feels like yesterday that it was only the first! This month has passed by extremely fast, and I’m a little sad Halloween and spooky season are about to be over, but I’m also excited for the big holiday season.
It’s also time to wrap up the “Nightmare Before TBR” readathon, and… I failed reading all the books that were on my TBR.
BUT
I did have a lot of fun reading books according to a prompt! In total I’ve managed to finish four to five books (I’m still reading the fifth), and considering I was at work 19 out of 31 days, I’ll take that as a good amount.
Salvaged – Madeleine Roux
This is the first book to kick of this wrap up, and it was an ARC the publisher sent to me. I really enjoyed reading this book! It was pretty dark at times, and the plot was very interesting. I have a full review here!
★★★★☆
Tunnel of Bones – V.E. Schwab
I loved City of Ghosts, and I loved Tunnel of Bones! I think this second installment was a teeny bit scarier than the first book. Still these are awesome middle grade level reads! The third book is going to be called Bridge of Souls. Any idea which city this might take place in? I was thinking of Prague. Hopefully we get to find out soon!
★★★★☆
Golden Son – Pierce Brown
Okay this book completely messed me up. The ending… holy crap. I remember saying I was going to continue straight to the third book, but I couldn’t do it. I wasn’t emotionally ready. Hope to read it before the year ends though!
★★★★★
Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
I’m not going to say too much about Ninth House, for I have a spoiler free review here! In the end, I really enjoyed this book and thought it was an excellent adult debut. There weren’t any loose ends, and the plot for the next book was set up really well.
★★★★☆
Capturing the Devil – Kerri Maniscalco
Ninth House put me in the mood for a good murder book, so Capturing the Devil came to mind! This will be the book that wraps up my wrap up. I haven’t finished it as I’m typing this, but I’m over halfway through! I might just finish it before the month ends. For now I’m enjoying it, but I’d like some more plots that involves actual murder.
