My October TBR – Blogtober

Happy second day of Blogtober! I hope everyone is appropriately excited for spooky season. At least the weather where I live is in the mood… I’ve not seen the sun in a few days!

I unfortunately have to keep my TBR short. I’m in the middle of the final stages of my Masters program, which includes writing a thesis, so I don’t have time for ambitious reading goals. But I do expect to be able to read some books. Especially since I’ve been approved for more books on NetGalley, so I kind of have to read… Oh well, here is my October 2020 TBR!

Technically I’m currently reading this, and am now over halfway through. These Violent Delights comes out November 17th, but I’ve somehow been approved for an arc on NetGalley! I’ve been really excited for this book, but I’ve been reading so slowly, it’s maddening. But now I’m finally making good progress, and I can’t wait to see how it ends!

This book is probably one of my most anticipated releases of the year, and probably tops my TBR. It comes out October 6, which is next Tuesday, eek! I’m hoping to read this as soon as it comes out, but ya girl is broke, so who knows if I’m actually able to read it in October. Anyway, I haven’t seen a single negative word about this book yet, so I’m sure it’ll be amazing!

I’ve actually heard mixed opinions on this book. From what I’ve heard it’s not bad, but it appears to suffer a little from second book syndrome. Oh well, only one way to find out for sure. I finally found a hardcover copy (US edition) at my local bookstore, so obviously I had to take it home. Now I can actually start it soon!

A few days ago I got the lovely message that I’d been approved for this book on NetGalley as well! So I don’t have to wait all the way until the end of the month to read it! I’m very excited for this book and I hope it lives up to my expectations. I really liked the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, so I’m sure I’ll like this book too. It comes out October 27th!

And there’s my October TBR! It isn’t super long, but I think I do have a good list of books. I hope that I can finish all of these this month, and that I may find balance between uni work and reading… What’s on your October TBR?

I’m impatiently waiting for my hold on Blood and Honey from the library. I am kind of hesitant because of the mixed reviews, but the first book surprised me so we’ll see. Hope you end up liking these books this month!
