My Most Anticipated 2026 Releases

Hello book friends! As we’re wrapping up 2025 it’s time to look ahead into 2026. It’ll be a good year for book lovers, because there are some incredible books coming out! Here’s a list of my most anticipated 2026 releases…

January is giving me a good mix of new-to-me authors and authors I already know. I am particularly excited for A Vow in Vengeance; the reviews are very promising and I have been loving tarot-based/adjacent magic systems since I read Arcana Academy and Mask of Mirrors this year.

The list:

  • Dragon Cursed by Elise Nova
  • The Poet Empress by Shen Tao
  • The Swan’s Daughter by Roshani Chokshi
  • A Vow in Vengeance by Jaclyn Rodriguez
  • The Wolf and the Crown of Blood by Elizabeth May
  • Two that caught my eye this month; one the third installment of a series and one that I have literally never heard of before. A Stage Set for Villains is described as Caraval meets One Dark Window, but I am secretly hoping there will also be a dash of Phantasma in this one!

    The list:

  • A Stage Set for Villains by Shannon J. Spann
  • Throne of Nightmares by Kerri Maniscalco
  • Nothing so far caught my eye in March, so on to April we go! A good month for sequels I’m looking forward to. I especially need Rites of the Starling as if it’s oxygen.

    The list:

  • The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker
  • Release Me by Tahereh Mafi
  • Rites of the Starling by Devney Perry
  • I’m using the expected publication of The Tapestry of Fate by Shannon Chakraborty as a sign I really really need to pick up and read The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. Not sure why I haven’t read it yet, because I absolutely loved The Daevabad Trilogy.

Some mystery covers for this month, but nonetheless two books I’m excited for! Another one I have at least added to the list in my head is Red God by Pierce Brown. Goodreads says it’ll release June 26th, but there is zero info on the page and Google just says “late Summer.” So, to avoid disappointment I’m just gonna pretend it’s not releasing in June so I can be pleasantly surprised when it is.

    The list:

  • A Darker Shore by Leigh Bardugo
  • A Trade of Blood by Robert Jackson Bennett
  • July is another month for sequels to books I haven’t read yet, but how could I resist adding these to my most anticipated releases list? I am particularly excited for The Gilded Blade even though I have not yet read Glorious Rivals at the time of drafting this blog, but I know for a fact that I will love it.

  • The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley
  • The Gilded Blade by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
  • Sea of Charms by Sarah Beth Durst
  • August’s list isn’t long, but these are two books I am VERY excited for. I have been wanting a duology about the Bloodborn since I read the Nightborn Duet. I knew it was gonna be written, but I am impatient okay.

    The list:

  • Adversary to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
  • The Lion and the Deathless Dark by Carissa Broadbent
  • I know waiting for a sequel can sometimes feel long (and in the case of Dead Beat, the waiting actually was long), but these upcoming books are perfect for September. I am expecting all the dark academia and gothic vibes that go so well with the -ber months.

    The list:

  • Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo
  • The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gill
  • Also on the list but no cover yet: the fifth book in the This Woven Kingdom series by Tahereh Mafi
  • A new one and a sequel for October so far. I haven’t yet read A Terror at the Gates, but I have high hopes for it and want to read it next month. The Wretched Divine has a love triangle in the description about the FMC and an angel and a demon. I mean, say less.

  • The Wretched Divine by Adalyn Grace
  • Coiled at the Roots by Scarlett St. Clair
  • Also on the list but no cover yet: Victorious by V.E. Schwab
  • More sequels for November! I read Fairyloot’s edition of Heavenly Bodies and am so sad I missed out on getting the sequel. This has nothing to do with my ability to read the sequels in other formats, but still. Also still need to read Quicksilver but I’LL GET TO IT OKAY LEAVE ME ALONE.

    The list:

  • Holy Monsters by Imani Erriu
  • Fae and Alchemy 3 by Callie Hart
  • There’s only one book I care about in December and it’s the sequel to Rose in Chains by Julie Soto. I read this book a while back and was so pleasantly surprised; I really loved it! But this is literally still a year away from being published so I’m going to have to distract myself with a whole bunch of other books until then.

And that’s the list of my most anticipated 2026 releases so far! I’m sure more will be added to this list as the year goes by. I’m also quite keen to see the final covers for all of these books.

What are some books you’re looking forward to in 2026? Let me know in the comments!
