October means watching scary movies. Unfortunately, I’m a massive wimp and refuse to watch anything ~too~ scary, so this my list of my favorite mildy-spooky-but-not-super-scary Halloween movies!
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I obviously can’t make a list of Halloween movies without mentioning The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is an absolute classic, and totally counts as a Christmas movie as well. It’s one of my all-time favorite movies in general, even!
Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow is one of those movies that are spooky, but not incredibly scary. I love how dark this movie is though. Fun fact: I used to live incredibly close to a street called Sleepy Hollow. Thankfully there have been no sightings of headless horsemen.
Corpse Bride
Have you noticed I like Tim Burton films yet? Corpse Bride is another one of my favorites! I love the story, and it’s a great movie to watch around Halloween. I can also listen to the soundtrack over and over again!
Hocus Pocus
This movie is aired on tv at least twenty times each October, and yet I only first saw it last year. This is such a fun and classic movie to watch around Halloween time!
Dark Shadows
Before I knew what Dark Shadows is about, I always thought it was meant to be a scary movie. Obviously that was wrong, because it’s hilarious. I love watching this movie and I’ve seen it multiple times.
Coraline
This is one of those movies that you think is going to be a mildly spooky experience and then you find out that it’s legitimately creepy. I still kind of want to read the book and find out if it’s just as creepy on paper as it is on screen.
Ik denk dat ik dit jaar Hocus Pocus eens ga kijken, die staat op Disney+ zag ik ๐
