It’s that time of the year again… Everywhere you go you’ll likely hear Christmas songs. I know the radio here has been playing them since mid November! This post is then all about my favorite Christmas songs!
First of all, I should tell you all that I like the classic Christmas songs best. They make me feel all cozy and festive. With that said, there are also some Christmas songs that are played on the radio so often that I can’t stand them anymore at the end of the season…
- Driving Home for Christmas – Chris Rea
This one always makes me feel happy and festive. I love it when it comes on in the car! - I’ll be Home for Christmas – Bing Crosby
Crosby is obviously the ultimate Christmas artist. Where the song above will make me feel festive and excited, this one always makes me want to settle down in front of the fire with a good book. - All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey
Is it even the Christmas season if you don’t listen to this song at least a bajillion times? This song has a funny story attached to it for me. I heard it first when I lived in Arizona and really liked it. But then I never heard it again until literally six years later! So weird.
- Hallelujah – Pentatonix
I’m not even sure if this is a Christmas song, but it’s on their Christmas album so I count it. It’s so beautiful though! It’s one of the few non-classic Christmas songs that I absolutely love. - Christmas Eve/Sarajevo – The Trans Siberian Orchestra
If you’ve never listened to The Trans Siberian Orchestra before, do yourself a favor and start now. It’s basically classical music with guitar. I went to their concert last year and it was amazing! They always tell a Christmas story during their shows. - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Judy Garland
This is probably the ultimate relaxing Christmas song. It’s so beautiful and makes me feel all cozy. I might just expect to see it snowing when I look outside.
