Fun rhyming title aside, I don’t think anyone likes being stuck alone in their room all day. Weirdly enough, I’m quite the extrovert and not hanging out with people is slowly making me go mad. But there is good news, I have made a daily routine for myself!
Now it should be said that this routine was definitely inspired by this tweet. However, I filled it in according to my own daily needs. Having some semblance of a routine is important! Most of us definitely need some structure and sense of control in our lives.
4:30a.m. – Wake up Time!
Yes this is very early. I have lecture on Mondays, and unfortunately my lectures are in the Netherlands and I am in the United States. Anyway, here are some things I do right after waking up:
- Stretch
- Get dressed
- Attend lecture from 5:15a.m. – 7:00a.m.
7:00a.m. – 9:00a.m. – Morning Routine!
Between 7 and 9 is when I naturally wake up, and asides from Mondays, this is when I normally jump out of bed to start the day. I like to take it slow because I’m not a morning person and this is probably the only time in my life I can take advantage of slow mornings.
- Stretch & work out
- Quick shower
- Breakfast time! (Maybe I’ll share my breakfast and lunch favorites soon)
- Morning skin care routine
- Get dressed + do make up
I like getting dressed and doing make up even when I’m not going anywhere. It gives me a sense of routine, and I look and feel good at the same time! Sounds like a win-win to me.
9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. – Time to work out my brain
This is when I actually start being productive. Obviously I still need to complete my assignments, and this is when I do them! I’m currently working on my thesis proposal and a presentation!
12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m. – Lunch Time!
I prefer taking a full hour to make and eat lunch. It helps me wind down a little, and I don’t feel guilty about it, because I just spent three hours working on class work. I deserve this break.
1:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. – More class work
Unfortunately, those three hours are not enough to finish all my work. In the afternoon, I usually work on different subjects. I also have to write some term papers, and I use these three hours to do research and some preliminary writing!
4:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. – Time to organize
I’m a very chaotic person, and my room can quickly turn into a disaster zone if I don’t keep up with cleaning. Thus, I use this hour to organize! I usually do one of the following, even though I know I can’t keep doing it forever:
- Clean out drawers / sort through clothes
- Organize make up
- Rearrange books
- Update calendar
5:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. – Time for fun!
To be honest, I think organizing is fun too, so really I’m having two straight hours of fun! Here’s what I normally do:
- Go outside (weather permitting)
- Watch some Netflix
- Scroll through social media
- Draft blog posts
- Draw
6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. – Dinner time!
Luckily I currently live at home with my parents again, and I never have to think about making my own dinner.
7:00p.m. – I fall asleep – Winding down!
Here’s where the true relaxation begins. This is what I normally do in the evenings:
- Take off make up
- Face Mask / evening skin care routine
- Read!
And down below you can find screenshots from my notes app, detailing my routine in case you don’t want to read my rambling!

There you go! Up to now I’ve been pretty okay with keeping up with this routine. I don’t see it as a rigid schedule, but more as a suggestion. I need to get stuff done, but I also don’t want to stress about it!
