My bucket list of fictional worlds I want to visit
I think my absolute favorite part about books is the world building. Some authors are just such geniuses at it! I love it when the descriptions take me straight into another world, and it seems like I’ve known it forever. So, to celebrate some amazing fictional worlds, I decided to make a bucket list of the fictional worlds I’d like to visit!
Drink butter beer in Hogsmeade! I mean, duh.
Attend the Starfall festivities in Velarys and I wouldn’t say no to dancing with a certain high lord either.
Visit the world of Throne of Glass and check out the shops in Rifthold, the nature of Terrasen, and take to the sky on the back of a ruk or wyvern! And pet Fleetfoot, because he is a good boy.
Visit Hogwarts of course, and take a month to explore the entire castle.
Visit all the Shadowhunter institutes.
Check out the lunar cities from the Lunar Chronicles.
Travel to Red London and witness all the amazing magic. Maybe even compete in the Element Games!
Travel through space with my favorite new space squad; squad 312 from Aurora Rising.
Speaking of space, how cool would it be to hang out with the Illuminae Files gang?
Travel by camel to the city of Weep from Strange the Dreamer. I’ve always imagined this city as a typical Moroccan city, with beautiful architecture and amazing colors. (This is probably one of my favorite fictional worlds, purely based on how it’s written)
Visit the world of The Priory of the Orange Tree and witness the majesty of the dragons.
Check out Rivendell in the world of The Lord of the Rings.
Chill with the Gangsey. That’s it. That’s all I want.
Speaking of awesome gangs, I would travel to the Grishaverse ASAP if it meant I got to hang out with Kaz, Inej, and the squad. Including Matthias please.
Visit to Daevabad (City of Brass) and check out all the different neighborhoods.
And last but definitely not least, attend (and maybe play) the game of Caraval!
And now some worlds I definitely DON’T want to visit:
The Game of Thrones world. No thanks. I’d be dead within an hour.
Panem (The Hunger Games). See above.
Mordor. This doesn’t even need an explanation.
The world of Nevernight. While fascinating from above, I don’t think I’d survive very long in a world like that.
The world of The Darkest Minds. Putting kids in cages? Hard no thank you.
What are some fictional places that are on your bucket list? And also, what are some of your favorite fictional worlds?
