Hello readers!
I thought it was high time that I did a June wrap up post, and I thought, why not combine it with my July TBR?
I actually had a really good reading month! I read four books, and all of them were four or five star reads. Now that it’s summer, I’m hoping to read more. I remember that two summers ago I sometimes read four books per month! I wonder if I can get on that level again…
June wrap up
Our Dark Duet ★★★★★
The first book I finished was Our Dark Duet, but Victoria Schwab. I’ve been reading more book by her lately, ever since I discovered the Darker Shades of Magic series. The Monsters of Verity duology might be one of my favorites yet. I couldn’t put both books down. But readers beware, it is quite heartbreaking.
King of Scars ★★★★★
The second book I ~finally~ started and finished was King of Scars. I’m not sure why I put it off for a couple of months, because I got it pretty much as soon as it came out. I actually really liked this book. I loved reading about what happened to Ravka after the war, and the plot twists were amazing. Though there was one I predicted.. I’m low key proud that I figured this particular situation out before it happened:)
Ten Thousand Skies Above You ★★★★☆
Next I read something completely different; Ten Thousand Skies Above You. I read the first book of this trilogy two years ago (oops), and finally picked up the sequel. I was entertained throughout the entire book, but what bumped it up to four stars for me was the massive cliffhanger at the end of the book. Maybe I’ll pick up the final book sooner than I did the second..
Rebel of the Sands ★★★★
Finally, I read Rebel of the Sands. I got this one at the library actually, and I already checked if they have the entire series (they do!). I really enjoyed this book too! I’m going to the library soon to get the second book (and probably the third too, to be honest). I’ve been reading a lot of Middle Eastern/Arabian inspired fantasy novels lately, so this was the perfect read!
July TBR

I’ll be honest.. I am absolutely horrible at sticking to TBRs… Like a lot of readers, I am a mood reader. I never know how I’ll come out of a book, so it’s very hard to predict which book I’ll feel like reading next. That doesn’t mean I don’t try though!
This month, I definitely want to read We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal. I said a few lines back that I’ve been reading so many novels with Middle Eastern/Arabian themes, and I am fully planning on continuing that trend. Maybe I’ll even make a blogpost about my favorites!
I also really want to read The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I’ve been looking at it longingly ever since I got it, but the problem is.. it’s so big. Actually, it’s not that big. I’ve read bigger books by far, but.. the paper is thick and the book is heavy and that intimidates me. This month I’ll pick it up though!
Lastly I want to read Nightblood by Elly Blake. I really enjoyed the first two books of the Frostblood series, and I feel like this series is kind of slept on. Anyway, I have a lot of series I need to wrap up, and I’m planning to start with this one, because I read the first two books in a matter of days!
