To my utmost delight, the lovely Leah from Leah’s Books and Cooks nominated me for a Liebster award! This was such a nice surprise to start my day with, and I’m stoked to answer the questions.
Okay so first let me explain a little about the Liebster award. According to this website, the Liebster Award is an internet only award for bloggers by bloggers. Bloggers nominate others, answer the questions, and pass it on to other bloggers. Right now you need to nominate bloggers with less than 200 followers, but this number is arbitrary. Support is support and is always welcome!
The rules are as such:
– Once you’re nominated, you first thank the blogger who nominated you
– Then you answer the questions from the blogger who nominated you
– When you’re done, nominate 5-11 other bloggers with ~200 followers
– Don’t forget to tell these bloggers about their nomination via social media!
– Make 11 new questions for your nominees
This award is a great way to get discovered and also to connect to other bloggers! Supporting other bloggers doesn’t cost anything, and it feels good too!:)
Thanks again to Leah for the nomination!
So without further ado, here are the questions she asked:
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
This is a tough question because I could see myself live in a lot of different places. However, when I was little I lived in Tucson, Arizona and I kind of fell in love with the desert. We were almost on the foot of the mountains, and the desert is absolutely beautiful in the spring and summer. And the dramatic weather is amazing too! However, I could also definitely see me living in the UK. Maybe London or Edinburgh. But I probably won’t enjoy the weather as much, haha.
When is your favorite time to blog?
I don’t really have a specific time set aside to blog, but I’m usually most productive in the evening. I’m typing this up while I actually should be making dinner, whoops. So the evening/early night is when I blog the most! But I always schedule my posts to publish automatically in the morning. Hopefully it gives people some fun things to read when they’re on break or something.:)
If you could give your teenage self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Hmm probably that people don’t care as much about you as you think they do. This sounds very depressing, but that’s not how I mean it. I mean that people are mostly concerned with their own life, and especially strangers do not have the time to judge everything about you, and if they do, that’s okay because you’ll probably never see them again anyway. So it doesn’t do to worry so much about what other people think. Focus on yourself.
How did you come up with the name for your blog?
My bookish journey started with a Bookstagram account by the same name, so it wasn’t super hard to figure out a name for my blog. I came up with the name for my Bookstagram by just brainstorming ideas. I kind of figured that when you’re reading a book, time seems to go by so quickly, so you’re basically leafing through time. And there you go!
What’s your favorite show to watch?
I’m horrible at watching any form of TV, and there is not a single TV show that I’ve ever finished, whoops. I used to be super obsessed with Pretty Little Liars, and watched that for the longest time! I also love Stranger Things, and I’ve recently started to watch Supernatural. But I’m still on season 1, so it’s going to take a while to actually finish that show.
What are three things you cannot live without?
I think books is a given, so I’m going to say three other things. Figure skating is definitely one. My friends would be another, because I’m a massive extrovert and if I didn’t have friends I would probably just die from lack of social interaction. And third probably my ereader. I can’t imagine stuffing an entire book in my bag anymore; my ereader is the way to go!
What is the first thing you notice about someone?
To be honest, their posture. I always notice how people carry themselves. Whether they stand up straight, how they walk, how they talk. I think first impressions are important, and posture is a big part of that! A lot can be said about a person by how they present themselves, and someone that takes care to make good first impressions is often someone that is confident too!
What is your favorite food?
SUSHI. You know how when you’re sick and the mere thought of food is enough to make you feel even worse? Sushi is the only food I can think of at all times, in all situations. Even when I’m sick I’d be down to eat sushi. My favorite types are tuna and salmon sashimi, but I also love a good shrimp tempura roll!
If you could visit anywhere in the world that you haven’t been to, where would you go?
Ooh there are so many places I’d want to visit! But right now I’d want to visit Okinawa, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea, because it’s where two of my good friends live. They only moved there last summer, and I really want to visit, but it’s so far, haha.
Coffee or tea?
Tea for me! I’ve never liked coffee and I don’t think I ever will. The closest I’ve ever come to coffee is a chai tea latte from Starbucks, and that one doesn’t even include coffee at all. I don’t drink a lot of tea to be honest, but I do like a good fruity tea. Or a minty one!
Which three authors are your favorites?
This list changes every few months or so, but some constant favorites are Brandon Sanderson, Leigh Bardugo and Jay Kristoff. For each author I’ve read at least seven books, and none of them have disappointed me so far! Especially the Illuminae Files is an all-time favorite series.
