Happy Fae Friday everyone! I’m finally getting into the rhythm of uni, so I hope this means I’ll be able to blog more. Not that I’ve been reading much, but still… Let’s do some Fae Friday stuff!
Fae Friday is hosted by Caffeinated Fae, and you can find all future prompts on her blog! All you gotta do is link back to her page and have fun with the prompt! Here is this week’s prompt: music
“Music is something that faeries are known to enjoy. That is why this week’s prompt is: what kind of music do you listen to when reading?”

I know some people find it difficult to listen to music while reading, because it’s very easy to get distracted. I also can’t listen to any popular songs that have actual lyrics in them, because I find myself focusing on the song more than the book. But I do love sort of setting the scene when I’m reading. Whenever I’m reading a book that’s particularly atmospheric, I try to find a playlist that matches the themes of the book. So if I’m reading an epic fantasy book, I try to find a playlist that has lots of epic fantasy type music. You know, the kind that makes you envision you’re a brave knight on a quest to slay an evil dragon.
One of my other favorite scene setters is sci-fi music. I love reading sci-fi, especially if the story takes place in space, so my favorite playlists to listen to are ones entirely consisting of synth-wave. Here is one of my favorite playlists to listen to when reading sci-fi! Most of these songs really make me feel like I’m actually in space alongside the characters of the book I’m reading.

That is such a cool idea to listen to music with a theme! I’m going to have to start doing something similar! It looks like a fun way to immerse yourself even more!
