Books I Want to Read Before the Year Ends

Hello book friends! This post is going to be all about the books I want to read before the year is over. I’m not going to lie, aside from the new releases coming in November and December, I also really want to tackle some of the books that have been on my shelves for ages.

The Older Ones

  • Rage by Cora Carmack – Not sure why I haven’t started this book yet, since I was so excited about it when it came out earlier this year. I literally got it on the release date…
  • Archenemies by Marissa Meyer – I really enjoyed Renegades when I read it but somehow never continued to Archenemies? I really need to read it ASAP because I’m planning on meeting Marissa Meyer this November during her Supernova tour!
  • The Grace Year by Kim Liggett – I started this book after I finished Ninth House but put it aside in favor of Capturing the Devil. I don’t think I was in the right mood then. But Lisanne from Oh My Book Blog read it in a single sitting, and I trust her judgment. Will continue hopefully soon!
  • The Devil’s Thief by Lisa Maxwell – This is another one that has been on my shelves for ages! I’m pretty sure I read The Last Magician three years ago… Time to get a move on!
  • Lifelike by Jay Kristoff – I love everything that was written by Jay Kristoff, whether alone or with another author, so I don’t know why I haven’t started this book yet? It came out ages ago! I have both Lifelike and Deviate on my e-reader, so I could literally start them anytime I want.
  • Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch – Oh the amount of times I’ve started this book only to put it back down… And I don’t understand why because The Lies of Locke Lamorra was one of my favorite reads from last year!
  • Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton – I got this book at the library and I’ve renewed it the maximum amount of times. And yet I still haven’t read it, whoops. Now I have to return the book and check it out again, because I do want to read it! Eventually…
  • Nightblood by Elly Blake – I literally sped through the first two books, they were so entertaining! So why haven’t I picked up Nightblood yet? It’s been on my shelves since it came out.

The New Releases

  • The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black – Obviously
  • Starsight by Brandon Sanderson – Fun fact: I completely geeked out with a customer over this book a while ago. If you haven’t picked it up yet, please do!
  • Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater – Pynch. Enough said.
  • Supernova by Marissa Meyer – I mean, if I’m going to go to her signing event, I should at least read the book as soon as possible?
  • Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi – FINALLY

Okay, so that’s only thirteen books. Can I do it?? One thing is for certain, I will do my best! What are some books you hope to read before the year ends?
