Happy Friday book friends! We’re already a week into April, but here is my March 2022 reading wrap up regardless. This time around, I did actually read some new books. Last month I didn’t do a wrap up because the only books I read were rereads. I wouldn’t have much to say except “yes, I still like this book.” The books I reread were Alien vs. Alien, and almost the entire Throne of Glass series. Like, I can’t make a decent wrap up post based on that lol. So we’re skipping February and going straight into March! march 2022 reading…
Happy Sunday book friends! I was very happy to obtain an e-ARC of The Hunger of the Gods a while ago. I read an ARC of The Shadow of the Gods, too, so I was really hoping I would also be able to read the sequel early. This book grabbed everything that made The Shadow of the Gods awesome, and somehow made it better?? Not sure how that’s even possible, but here we are. You can find last year’s review of The Shadow of the Gods here! And just like book 1, The Hunger of the Gods is extremely bloody,…
Happy Thursday book friends! I have another book review for you today. After exclusively rereading books in February, I’m making more of an effort to read newer books in March. Up next in my schedule is The Hunger of the Gods by John Gwynne, so keep an eye out for that in the next week! But first, let’s discuss The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan. I bought this when I was out and about last weekend because I saw it floating around and I’ve never read a bad Orbit book, so. Here we are. Check out the content warnings…
Happy Sunday book friends! This year, I really wanted to make an effort to read the bigger books on my TBR. I’m not the fastest reader, so most of the time I settle for a smaller book so I can complete my reading goal without stress. But let’s be real… I bought those big books for a reason, so they deserve to be read. Surprisingly, I’ve been quite good at checking those chonky books off my list this year! And I’m not behind on my reading goal at all. On the contrary, I’m quite a few books ahead. Of course,…
Happy Friday book friends! I know, it’s been a while. I had zero blogging inspiration, spent February exclusively rereading books, and then caught Covid lol. Basically I spent the last six days or so in bed. But thankfully I wan’t so sick that I couldn’t read, so I managed to finish House of Sky and Breath! I think it’s fair to say that House of Sky and Breath was in my top 5 most anticipated 2022 releases. I got a copy as soon as it came out, and couldn’t wait to dive in. Though I had to finish up my…
Happy Sunday book friends! Did you all have a good January? Our lockdown ended, which means I’m mostly working again. But I still read a bunch of books in January. In total I read seven books. This year I also set a goal of 40K pages, so I’ve been keeping better track of my reading. Not that you can tell, because I haven’t bothered to update all my socials yet… But, I have a space in my notebook dedicated to my reading! Anyway, I managed to read some big books last month, so I got a good start to this…
Happy Monday book friends! Gods & Monsters is not the first book I finished in 2022, but it is the first one I’m reviewing. It’s also been well over a month since I last posted a review on here, oops. To be real honest I was very hesitant to pick up Gods & Monsters. I genuinely liked Serpent & Dove, but if you’ve read my review of Blood & Honey you know that that one left me disappointed. It was fine, but I expected more. I really didn’t feel like reading over 600 pages (yes, Gods & Monsters is that…
Happy Saturday everyone! And happy belated new year, too. This is my first post of the year, and it comes nearly at the end of January… I don’t have an excuse other than that I was too lazy to write anything. I seem to have these lazy phases quite often… But lazy or not, I do want to show you the rest of the books I read for the SFF Badge Collection! You may remember that nearly a month ago I posted part one, which you can find here.badge collection badge collection badge collection Just like last time, I’ll tell…
Happy Saturday book friends! And Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! I hope Santa left lots of bookish gifts under the tree for you. This year, I’ve been participating in the SFF Badge Collection: a year-long challenge in which you read a book, and collect badges along the way! I am notoriously bad at completing challenges. I’m too much of a mood reader to participate in week, or even month-long reading challenges. So the fact that this one spanned a whole year was perfect. I could just mood read my way through it! Each badge is connected to a prompt,…
Happy Friday book friends! Is everyone ready for the Holiday weekend? My work has been closed the past week due to lockdown, but we still did some cleaning up. It was honestly super fun and I’m a bit sad I won’t see my coworkers until next year. On the plus side, I’m hoping to get lots of reading done the next two weeks! And who knows, maybe the lockdown will be extended (again) and I get to read even more. On that note, you all know I overshot my reading goal by quite a lot. But how many of my…
Happy Monday book friends! Well, it’s official. The Netherlands is in a hard lockdown. Only for a few weeks, hopefully. On the bright side, the ice rink remains open because it’s considered outside and I now also have tons of time for reading! On that note, I thought it would be fun to make a little post about my reading goals for 2022! I’ll also touch upon my goals of this year and tell you whether I was successful or not so much. Do tell me in the comments whether you are setting any reading goals for next year, too!
Happy Saturday book friends! I hope everyone is ready for the weekend. I am working today, but luckily have tomorrow off. And then it’s the last legs to Christmas! I’m hoping to read a few more books between now and then, but I already know I can make this post now… There were definitely some books on my 2021 TBR that I know I’m not going to get to anymore. A lot of them were anticipated releases, but I also have a few older books in the mix that have been sitting on my shelves for a while. It’s so…
Happy Friday book friends! It’s an early day for me. I’m going to be at work all day today. It’s been quite busy really, and we have to close an hour earlier than usual because of Covid measures. If only customers would actually take that into account… Anyway, enough complaining. I thought I’d do the End of Year Book Tag again! I thought I did this tag last year as well, but apparently I did it all the way back in 2019. Looking back at my answers really makes me laugh. I said I wouldn’t read a lot in 2020…
Happy Thursday book friends! I recently finally read Kingdom of the Cursed and overall really enjoyed it. I have been excited for this book since I finished an ARC of Kingdom of the Wicked way back in October last year. An yet it took me a minute to garner the motivation to read Kingdom of the Cursed. I got my copy for my birthday, so I’ve had it for a while. The good news is, it was on my TBR for this month, and I actually stuck to it for a change! Warning! Even though this review won’t contain spoilers…
Happy Saturday book friends! Have you made your bookish wishlist yet? To be honest, my Amazon wishlist and bookish wishlist are one and the same thing. So today I am sharing some of the books I would really like to see under the Christmas tree! I know it’s still a little early to post a wishlist. Christmas is still two weeks away. But my mom might read this post, and so this post could serve as a little inspiration ? Christmas tree Anyway, here are some of the books from my wishlist that I would definitely want to see under…
Happy Friday book friends! Yesterday I finished Our Violent Ends and I am ~upset~ So, I hope you all were already convinced to pick up this series, because I do not want to suffer alone. I read and reviewed an ARC of These Violent Delights in October 2020, and highly enjoyed it. It was a fun book with interesting character dynamics and a great cliffhanger ending. So waiting for Our Violent Ends was a little torturous, but at the same time I also can’t believe more than one year has already passed since TVD was published?! Anyway, Our Violent Ends…
Happy Thursday book friends! Did you read any books by new to you authors this year? I always enjoy doing these type of posts to see how many completely new to me authors I discovered. This year I actually reread a bunch of books, and I read many sequels/final books too, so I was afraid I wouldn’t even be able to make a post like this. But surprisingly, there are a few books by authors I had never heard of before. So let’s take a look at who they are and how much I enjoyed their books! Django Wexler Ashes…
Happy Wednesday book friends! Does your reading change with the season? I used to read much lighter books in the summer months, but the past few years I’ve just stuck to fantasy and science fiction year round. That doesn’t mean I don’t have any books on my TBR that are perfect for the winter though! I also want to read at least one Christmassy romance this year. I really want to feel the sappiness and it would be nice to read a book with a 100% happy ending. So here are some wintery books I’m hoping to read before spring!wintery…
Happy Tuesday book friends! Something entirely different first: I got new prescription glasses and everything is so HD now it’s honestly making me a little dizzy. But at least I can read street signs again, which is a plus. As you all know, I love decorating my room for each season. This year I invested a little in some new Christmas decor, and I have to say that I love what my room looks like now! I actually have very little decor up this year that I got in the U.S. Shocker, I know. It’s just that most of my…
Happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I worked yesterday, and it was so nice to be back in my own store again. I didn’t hate working at a different location, but the vibes are just different. Also there were like, three people in the store at any given time which meant that I didn’t even have to work hard. Anyway, enough work talk. Today I have a book tag on the schedule for you. Usually when I want to do a tag I just go to my good friend google, and so I found this one!…
