It’s already September and that’s absolutely wild to me. Like I feel like it’s still supposed to be March or April, but noooo, time had to move on. Rude.
August was a weird month for me. Obviously I moved continents for good, and even though it was all relatively stress free, it’s still a hassle. I read five books this month, and all of those were read before my move. I didn’t manage to finish a single book between the 19th and now… Oh well, five is not bad, so you get a nice August wrap up post from me! august wrap up

Foundryside
By Robert Jackson Bennett
This was the first book I finished in August, and the only reason I knew it existed is because of The Story Graph. Their “For You” section is really good and I will be using it whenever I have no clue what to read. Anyway, this book was phenomenal, and you can read my ~mostly~ spoiler free review here!

The Crowns of Croswald
By D.E. Night
My next read was The Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night. I got this book from the publisher via NetGalley, and I finally got around to reading it! This book is a middle grade fantasy, and I believe it’s perfect for kids that like Harry Potter, or Keeper of the Lost Cities. It’s a little easier to read, but still very whimsical with a headstrong main character. You can find my review of this book here!

Silhouette in Scarlet
By Elizabeth Peters
So I started this book in February and then stopped reading it until now. I don’t quite know what to say about it except that it didn’t hold my attention as well as the previous two books did. Those other two I both read in one sitting, and this one I obviously didn’t. I think I just didn’t like the setting as much. Maybe I’ll have more luck with the next one in the series!

The Silvered Serpents
By Roshani Chokshi
Ohmigod this book was so good. I thought the Gilded Wolves was just alright. Enjoyable for sure, but not WOW. This one was WOW on steroids. I loved it so much! Every character has its own POV, and there is not a single one I didn’t want to read about. I’m so sad I now have to wait extra long for the next book because I decided to read the e-arc. Anyway, you can read my full review for this book here!

Hero at the Fall
By Alwyn Hamilton
I finished this one on my flight home, and like I said, it was the last book I finished in August. But it was also my 40th book of the year! Milestone! I really enjoyed this trilogy, and this third installment, too. Surprisingly, lots of characters actually die in this series, which I think is kind of unusual for YA. My only gripe is that there is very little confrontation with the Sultan, despite everything that happened in book two, and that struck me as a little weird.
